Reef Angel, the open source controller manufacturer, has announced their new online portal system which allows direct monitoring and management of their controller.  The great thing about their solution is that the integration with the portal is handled directly on the controller, so in all likelihood you do not need to deal with all of the technical problems related to firewalls, routers, IP addressing, etc.  In the controller config you just enable the portal function and put in your username and password and everything is done for you automatically.  In addition, the system supports XML so it won’t be long before the controller can be managed from other portal systems like our own Reefs.me.
