This will be a sight to see...
I actually was trying to get a hold of the sand that Korallen offers but the price was way to high. Still looking for sand for my system think i will be going with crush coral myself. How do you plan on running your system now?

Well, picked up my tanks from the Reptile Show in White Plains today. Little did I realize that the main display tank I ordered weighed 800lbs.!!!!! Luckily, the guys from Glass Cages had enough people to help me load it in the UHaul I rented. Problem after that was I didn't have the stand ready. So I got back and had to build a stand in 1 hour so I could get 7 guys to lift it directly from the truck on. If we had put it down on the floor as I had planned, we would've needed a forklift to get it up. But after 24 Xlarge Cinder blocks, achy body aside, it was done. Here's the pics:

Its a 72" x 36" x 24" center column overflow, starphire all 4 sides. There is no vertical corner bracing, there is glass bracing around the inside bottom. It almost looks like a 2" wide 1/2" tall step around the entire inside bottom. The bottom is 1" tempered glass while the sides are all 3/4" thick. Its a monster. Here are some more pics:

So, I've decided to make another change in my system. After a few conversations, I found out that Live Rock makes a good contribution to denitrifying waste that builds up. But because the Zeo system will eventually reach an Ultra Low Nutrient level, the quantity of live rock needed is drastically less than traditional systems of 1-2lbs. per gallon. I decided to model my system after the Korallen Zucht Frag Laboratories System and use a 50 gallon sump instead of my 400 gallon Chem Vat Monster. This will actually lower my water volume by quite a lot. My new Net Volume will be Approximately 500 gallons...wow, thats half the size I was anticipating but I'm still working with all of the same tank volumes. I'm stoked!

Heres a link to the KZ Facilities in Germany. This system is amazing. No overflows!

hopefully you discovered this little tidbit before you were too far into the planning...

Nah, no jealousy, just come and hang out anytime ;). Here are some updates over the last few days. Getting the frag tanks level and even was a nightmare because of the unlevel flooring but we got it done...phew!

Here's one side of the Frag tanks

Just want to quickly note that the BK Skimmer and other equipment is not going to actually be where you see them. The Sump where all of the equipment will be running will actually connect the ends of the frag tanks opposite the main display. Now, back to work!

Looks great... can't wait to see it running as well and this is all at your home right?

A few thoughts, with 700+ gallons in that room is 12K BTU going to be enough? The energy start charts recommend 12K for the room with people and add another 4K for a kitchen.

I found this GE RO system not to long ago, does 720GPD. Add a DI canister and water changes would be a lot quicker. http://www.freshwatersystems.com/s-118-ge-merlin-720-gpd-tankless-ro-system.aspx

Yeah, I'm not too sure either but I plan on setting the thermostat on 74 so it shouldn't be too hard on the compressor. If it was air conditioned down to 65 then there might be an issue. I think I should be ok. I hope.
