Hey Ravi..curious what your doing with your power supplies and drivers. Do you plan to put them in a project box or some other type of enclosure?

Power supply that i am using is built by "powerone" and Its a lot better than meanwell power supply because this company makes these for hospital equipment and it has built in 12v fan that keeps it cool all the time and housing is aluminum as well so I wont need enclosure for that and for drivers i will be using project box from Microcenter and If i feel that there is heat building up in the box then i will drill holes and add fan to keep air flowing through the box...I will post more pictures of the set up soon I have plans to fire up the light today....I am waiting for my friend James who is expert when it comes to electric stuff...

Ravi any updates on Light fix. ? i am Super, super happy w/my DIY LED lamp i may build one much bigger, i run now MH 400 W on 1/2 of the tank and this LED the right side of the tank (1/2) i got better grow and color on LEDs, i also run 4 T5 ATI right in the middle , i think i will skip the Storm X and driver, is just to much $ and lots of time. I may use just Power supply and regular timer, just like MH light. Post some pics.

i wanna use the storm controller too but i feel like the power cord for the controller is so short. Can you just add those +/- wires on to the driver board, as well as a fan?
http://coralux.net/?wpsc-product=ldd-5-driver-board ?

from Storm to driver u have to buy the wires (they have small plug already) from power cord to controller , YES u can make it longer, remove the 4 mm plug and extend, wires from drivers to LEDs, YES u can use longer wires (i got those for u for free) . If i was u , i would buy http://www.rapidled.com/refurbished-mean-well-eln-60-48d-dimmable-driver/ this driver, is just $21 and will help u a lot, b 4 connect the ( 14 LEDs) to controller, this way is easy to find if that channel (14 LEDs) is the right color u need, if one of LED is out (burn) if one of soldering connection is bad etc. I got heat sink for u also.

I wanna put one 100w multichip, I like how the colors are so comprehensive.

on this heatsink,
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/50w-...high-power-projection-radiator/996100899.html
and attach the driver board on top of the fan, maybe controller too on front
http://coralux.net/?wpsc-product=clear-acrylic-case-for-storm
Would this power supply work?
http://www.rapidled.com/mean-well-se-350-48/
Total cost around $250.. what you think? U think one will be enough to power my 35g tank? If my evergrow it2040 165w is way too strong at 100%. Maybe I'll use two 50w chips on this heatsink
http://www.rapidled.com/6-x-10-black-anodized-aluminum-heat-sink/
but thats going to be so many wires.

can you set only one channel for moonphase on storm controller?

i dont like this 100w multichip leds, i now one member try it, is NOT what u need for reef, they have low PAR , they use only one lens, u better say w/Bridgelux LED 3W in your case (small tank) even 1 W, u can make 7 CH. of 14 LEDs ( 1W) and cover all full spectrum. The trick is to use much is possible LEDs, 35 % UV, 35 % Blue 35 % White. Come and take a GOOD look to my DIY light is next to 400 W MH.

Dude what happened you don't like the color combination or growth ?

I like color and grow, but wont cover 72" long (220 Gal.) tank , to build one or two more is gone cost me a lot + TIME, so I go back on MH (400 W Radium) . To bad is a great Light, I try to recover list 75% how much I spend, not even mention the time, I use to fight to my wife 3-4 times a day, during the build, I do NOTHING in the house and around, I decide to keep my wife, so I go back in MH lol.

When i order the LEDs (China) i order 3-4 times more then i need, in special the UVs, i have nothing to check the nm (spectrometer $4000-$5000) i go PAR meter and eyes, 15.000 K i think i got 100 more, lens i order 6-7 kinds, by the time i got the right one, look the same but when i make a temple and project on ceiling i see huge dif. also on PARs. Power supply i have to order 2 by the time i find the one the fan start on AUTO (hot ,warm, shut off) Thermal adhesive + all driver, Storm X , cost me a lot, if i NOT sale it, i will use for grow a ............palm tree .lol

Light fixture update

Hey guys here is the fixture we put together and it is over my tank now. This unit is controlled by Coralux Storm and I love the smooth sunrise and sunset it does and cloud is set to every minute that means I see clouds going over every minute. Lunar moon is amazing with UV lights dim independently...
