I live in rural Western Kansas, I own my own business and employ about 70 people each of whom I carefully hand pick. I go to a Baptist church 2 times per week. I have 7 children and a reef so I am a busy person. The above facts I have stated to give you my perspective. I live in a fairy tale world. Most of the people I associate with share my viewpoint.
God is Love. God would desire that this sort of thing would not happen, but he has limited his involvement in order to allow free choice to his created beings. If I truly seek to "WWJD", I will grieve for the dead, leave vengance to God (Who has the governments and many other tools to his disposal), and go on with my life of which my highest priority is to influence others for Christ.
I have read serveral of the political posts in the past few days and have been saddened and shocked. Appearantly most of you either do not believe in the next life, or even though you claim to believe, you live and think as though you do not. A few weeks ago I spoke to a 61 year old banker who had nearly died a few weeks earlier. After realizing he was unsure of what would happen to him when he died, I said to him, "You have spent much of your life studying investments. Have you investigated the next life.... What will happen after death.... What are the requirements? He looked down as if ashamed of himself and quietly said "no". I then looked at with a sincere look of sadness and ashamedness and said, "Do you think that is wise?" Again, he said "No".
Buildings are not important in the economy of God. Many of the people who have died here have gone, or will be going, on to live with God. If only we had the ability to step back and look at things from an eternal perspective. If only we could see the entire span of the life of a man, 80 years on this planet and over 1 million in the next life. How small would the 80 year section look?
Many tell me that they do believe in God and yet they do not live their lives accordingly. This is hard for me to understand. It is, however hard for me to understand why they say that they believe in a comfortable retirement and yet their spending habits will not get them there.
Why........
Why would someone who wants to beable to retire comfortably rack up tons of credit card debt, borrow on expensive automobiles, live in a larger home than necessary, blow money on gambling and lottery?
I don't know, but if I did I think I would bettrer understand why they are not willing to pick up their Bibles and read them for themselves. Why they allow themselves to engage in gross sin, one of which is HATE. Why they would not share their faith with their friends.
I am sure that I have offended some of you. I pray that you will, however, do one thing. Stop right now. Pray. Ask God, if there is a God, to speak to your heart. I believe, No, I know that he will honor that prayer if you are sincere. He is real. He has spoken to me audiably twice in my life. Then begin reading your Bible daily. Even if it is for only 10 minutes a day, God will change your life, your attitudes, your priorities, your peace, your joy. More importantly, he will show you what the next life holds for you.
I was asked a few years ago to not use this board for this sort of discussions outside my signature line. I have complied. I appreciate the administrations decision to allow this, due to the weight of our current political situation.
May God Bless our Nation, but if our nation does not choose to acknowledge him, then may he Bless those who will.
