I live in rural Western Kansas, I own my own business and employ about 70 people each of whom I carefully hand pick. I go to a Baptist church 2 times per week. I have 7 children and a reef so I am a busy person. The above facts I have stated to give you my perspective. I live in a fairy tale world. Most of the people I associate with share my viewpoint.
God is Love. God would desire that this sort of thing would not happen, but he has limited his involvement in order to allow free choice to his created beings. If I truly seek to "WWJD", I will grieve for the dead, leave vengance to God (Who has the governments and many other tools to his disposal), and go on with my life of which my highest priority is to influence others for Christ.

I have read serveral of the political posts in the past few days and have been saddened and shocked. Appearantly most of you either do not believe in the next life, or even though you claim to believe, you live and think as though you do not. A few weeks ago I spoke to a 61 year old banker who had nearly died a few weeks earlier. After realizing he was unsure of what would happen to him when he died, I said to him, "You have spent much of your life studying investments. Have you investigated the next life.... What will happen after death.... What are the requirements? He looked down as if ashamed of himself and quietly said "no". I then looked at with a sincere look of sadness and ashamedness and said, "Do you think that is wise?" Again, he said "No".

Buildings are not important in the economy of God. Many of the people who have died here have gone, or will be going, on to live with God. If only we had the ability to step back and look at things from an eternal perspective. If only we could see the entire span of the life of a man, 80 years on this planet and over 1 million in the next life. How small would the 80 year section look?

Many tell me that they do believe in God and yet they do not live their lives accordingly. This is hard for me to understand. It is, however hard for me to understand why they say that they believe in a comfortable retirement and yet their spending habits will not get them there.

Why........

Why would someone who wants to beable to retire comfortably rack up tons of credit card debt, borrow on expensive automobiles, live in a larger home than necessary, blow money on gambling and lottery?

I don't know, but if I did I think I would bettrer understand why they are not willing to pick up their Bibles and read them for themselves. Why they allow themselves to engage in gross sin, one of which is HATE. Why they would not share their faith with their friends.

I am sure that I have offended some of you. I pray that you will, however, do one thing. Stop right now. Pray. Ask God, if there is a God, to speak to your heart. I believe, No, I know that he will honor that prayer if you are sincere. He is real. He has spoken to me audiably twice in my life. Then begin reading your Bible daily. Even if it is for only 10 minutes a day, God will change your life, your attitudes, your priorities, your peace, your joy. More importantly, he will show you what the next life holds for you.

I was asked a few years ago to not use this board for this sort of discussions outside my signature line. I have complied. I appreciate the administrations decision to allow this, due to the weight of our current political situation.

May God Bless our Nation, but if our nation does not choose to acknowledge him, then may he Bless those who will.

I was trying very hard to keep out of a political, or religious debate. These debates don't do anything except cause more anger. I realize that there is "lowlife" in all races, religions, nationalities. When I watch Tv and it shows the palistines dancing in the street, It hurts me. If these people are not afraid and are willing to die for what they believe, Than by all means help them out. I don't want or wish for everyone to see things as I do, Each and every person is allowed to have their own opinion and the freedom to speak as they wish, After all this is what we are fighting for. When some moron say's, Take of the rag and wear a Yankee Cap, He is allowed, As I am for calling him a moron, as he is for calling me an A$$ Hole. " He will".

We need to end these acts of terrorism. By what ever means needed. There are some people who don't value life, We should end there's. " Remember I have the right to say this. I fought for it." Those of you who disagree with me that's OK. I fought for that also.

I'm note sure what we should do to stop all This nonsense, I do feel however that making them suffer, and suffer, Or total eradication may be the only way. If we show them that for every 1 (one) person they kill here we kill 10,000 there, They may think twice. If not we will outlast them. 10,000 to 1 is pretty good odds.

You May not agree, but I am sure I am in the Majority, Not Minority. As for the Arabs and Muslims living here in the USA, They are welcomed and should be treated with the same respect as all. What goes around comes around.

Hope I have not offended anyone, But that is my right if I have. We as a Nation will overcome this tragedy and be better of for it. My tears and heart go out the families and all who have been lost.

In a reply to skybolt's comments to Dave I have the following response:

1. Yes we have a right to freedom of speech, but to disparage people of an entire religion, and multiple nationalities does no one any good. It lowers us as a people when we need to take a more upright path. If we truly want to support our freedom, it means supporting everyone’s freedom regardless of nationality, race, or nationality. To do anything else goes completely against the grain of what we as a nation are trying to stand for.
2. Innocent people die DAILY in the Middle East. Just because terrorists have not given us notice does not excuse us from acting in a measured manner. We need to be the better side of this. All out warfare may escalate things more than we ever dreamed. Yes we need to punish those involved. Yes we should, to every extent possible, try to avoid harming those not involved. We also need to address the causes of terrorism as well on diplomatic and political fronts. We could blow up every known terrorist six ways to Sunday…more will come if we do not also address the cause.
3. Who do you blame? How about the terrorists and NOT simply anyone who is Muslim. And please, check the history books, terrorism did not happen in a vacuum. The Middle East has been a powder keg for nearly all of recorded history and even more so in the 20th century…we need to address this or terrorism will never stop.
4. I do not believe Dave Lin was judging people. He was however speaking out against generalization against Arabs, slurs and hate…Hate will solve nothing…why do you think Israel and Palestine have not settled things? Hate and Fear have crippled both peoples. We must take a stand against this or what are we fighting for? And your last comment (get the **** out) MUST be addressed. What do you mean by this? Your statement is completely contrary to what you said in point one (freedom of speech). Are you saying everyone should have your view or leave the country? How is criticizing hate un-American? And more pointedly, how is name calling and the spread of hate American?

Unfortunally, there are some EXTREMELY IGNORANT PEOPLE in this country. I too feel the same way you do, davelin315.

This name calling and accusations is just ridiculous. Unfortuanlly, people are blowing steam... and this is the only way they can do it. I'm not excusing them for thier actions, for it is WRONG.

So much for being presumed innocent before Guilty.

I hate all this Arab bashing. It's ignorant!

I think alot of the things that are being said are out of a basic fear response which can be quite irrational and carry with it a basic fight for survival. The US has never had their mainland attacked before yesterday, people must be respected for these basic emotions they are dealing with. I would like for everyone to keep a cool head too, but I know that this primative insticts often take over when one feels that they and their families are in danger.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news... but I think people really need to prepare themselves for response the US is going to deliver. Weather it be a tactical, very low yield nuclear, cruise missile to an all out military response. This is almost a given with the UN passing article 5. I just want to prepare people that the loss of life here,(on both sides), that could be substantial. I have been in the Intel field for the past 10 years. I don’t mean to alarm anyone, but the last time something this substantial happened on US soil was WWII.... and we all know what ended that.

To Fmx2md.

Sorry about that, I didn't want to mean it. what I've heard yesterday on TV was: "some people from middle east kill themselves because if they commit suicide to defend their religion they go to heaven automatically " in my religion is quite different. I respect other religions and I didn't want to offend you at all. but this is what I've heard... Please tell me; is that true? I don't want to repeat and spread something that is wrong only because I heard it on TV.

desktopsilver, unlike you, I use my real name and leave it out there for everyone to see. My job is a prosecutor. That means that I deal with murderers every day. I have had death threats, and have gone amongst gang bangers and put them in their places. I have gone out on patrol with officers, and I have accompanied them into dangerous places. I have been in our urban warfare, and I doubt very much that you have. I fight everyday to make the world a better place to live in, and it's people like you that make me wonder why I'm fighting to make it better for all of us, instead of just a few of us. But, despite your presence, I still fight, because no one deserves to live in a world of sh-it. It takes a bigger man to admit that he's sad that our country is being involved in this and to criticize blind hatred than it does to act like you. When I was growing up, I was beat up because I was Chinese, and no other reason. When I was big enough to fight back, I did, and I stopped getting beat up. I still fight every day for those who can't fight for themselves. Don't know why you decided to pop up on this post, but you're really not a welcome addition to it. It's good to see that ignorance is still out there alive and well. Let me know when you have your next genocide rally and I'll be sure to show up and let you know what I think of it.

I just looked up your profile, and seems like you're name is Dave Woodard, so maybe you're not as cowardly as I assumed. But anyway, I'm glad that I don't live in San Mateo, and I hope that your truck route never takes you to Chicago, because your ignorance wouldn't be welcome here.

I greatly agree with the above explanation. the leaders just use a topic of concern or use something they know will outrage the people. Religion is one of those topics, certainly when they are told this is God's plan for them and the evil "Americans" must be punished for their sins the people take it seriously.

I really think it is sad that a few of us the Americans can injure and harass the people from Middle eastern countries. a large amount of people have come here to escape from the problems of their past countries and to create a happy and safe family. many have been here for generations and have just as much U.S. back ground as I do.

One reason I feel that a few Americans are lashing out in this way is because thye are trying to find a way to do something they are trying to find a way to help. But ironicly they are directing their help in wrong or negative ways. For example one of my friends has a cousin in jail and he said that all the Middle Eastern people are getting beaten up by other people in the prision. It is a perfect example of a desperation to help but just not the right way to do it.

The biggest fear of mine is that I jsut turned 18 and if this becomes as severe internationally as the political officals say i may have the chance of being pulled into a draft. which of course if I am choosen I will go. but honestly who would really want to go and cause more carnage. Havent enough people died, we should go after who did this responsiblly and very carefully so we dont start killing innocent children whose fathers brought this upon them. Also who will take care of my aquarium. But I would rather go into a draft now then 40 years ago in veitnam becasue the majority of the american population didnt support veitnam. MAny of the soldiers were looked down upon and not supported be the U.S. as a whole.

One last thing parents be careful what you say around your children and actually talk to them about what is going on right now. Many children are confused with what is happening and many need a listening ear. Also be careful what you say around them becasue often times thay will take your jokes seriously and use them as a hostile threat against other children there age.

On a more serious note in my aquaria i have noticed some 1 1/2" inch long white tentacle that look like a peice of hair coming out of my live rock and feeling around it is kind of wierd. And at times it will zip back in its hole kind of like a featherduster when you scare it. Any ideas?

WEll pray for the injured and hurting families and continue being a reefaholic

peace

Oh MATTT, I think you're in for a big surprise. There is something brewing.
There is no way Bush, or the GOP could not attacke someone! Even the President is talking about war being declared on the U.S.
They won't respond with a little trial.
Big freakin' airstrikes are coming. Maybe ground units deployed. The sh*t has hit the fan.

I am a military doctor. Action must be taken. In war, innocent people do die. It is impossible to cherry pick those responsible from those who are not.

The worst alternative of any above scenario involves doing nothing and having a repeat series of events. While "nuke 'em all" certaintly doesn't make sense, a certain degree of military action does. Action must be taken, we cannot sit on our hand in this situation.
