Fmx2md, thats what I thought you were referring to but just wanted to make sure. You said that the mass destruction you were referring to is the conflict between Israel and Palestine, well to me the definitions of conflict and mass destruction have two very different connotations. You are asking us to become more informed and yet your take on this issue would lead me to believe that the data you have gathered is slanted.
Davelin, a friend told you he was accidentally sent an e mail that discussed a holy war and exterminating and nuking all Arabic peoples. First of all isn't this hear say information Mr Prosecuter?
icon_biggrin.gif
Second, how does spreading rumors like this help in our cause to bring people together?
I hope you both know me well enough to know that these questions are by no means a personal attack, I am just trying to discuss the issues.

That's what I am saying there is an ETERNAL HATE amongst religious groups and we are being dragged in and pushed around by these fanatic groups. Are we just supposed to forgive, forget, and turn the other cheek?
I think not because they will slap that side too.
There is no forgiveness in their warped sick brain they call religion. We need to be cool and punish the groups that threaten our lives right in our back yard whatever the price may be...Freedom has no price.

Hey purple_tang2001. Glad you bring that up. Pick up pieces of us, who is us. To let you know that my family is still awatting news on a member family still not heard from at. My sister and her close friend are both work in the first building that was hit. Close friend was in the 70th floor, we heard from her yesterday at her Manhatan apartment. She told us that she did not see my sister or have heard from her. Friend stopped by the apartment and check she is still not there. We are still trying til today. My mom, dad, brother and I will have to go to my sister apartment to clear out some stuff if bad news come. Lost of people in NY and family member does not need some low life level to represent us. Giving blood is many of us have done, giving money is another thing everyone of us could have done, but go around and acting stupid is not thing we should done at this time of sadness. Take care and live a safe happy life.

Take it anyway you like but this is how I fell that every person who belives deep in their hearts that are true americans ought to feel.

We'll Go Forward From this Moment

by Leonard Pitts Jr., the Miami Herald

It's my job to have something to say.
They pay me to provide words that help
make sense of that which troubles the
American soul. But in this moment of
airless shock when hot tears sting disbelieving eyes, the only thing I can find to say, the only words that seem to fit,
must be addressed to the unknown author of this suffering.
You monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard.
What lesson did you hope to teach us by your coward's attack on our World Trade Center, our Pentagon, us? What was it you
hoped we would learn? Whatever it was, please know that you failed.
Did you want us to respect your cause?
You just damned your cause.
Did you want to make us fear?
You just steeled our resolve.
Did you want to tear us apart?
You just brought us together.
Let me tell you about my people. We are a vast and quarrelsome family, a family rent by racial, social, political and class division, but a family nonetheless. We're frivolous, yes, capable of expending
tremendous emotional energy on pop cultural minutiae a singer's revealing dress, a ball team's misfortune, a cartoon mouse.
We're wealthy, too, spoiled by the ready availability of trinkets and material goods, and maybe because of that, we walk through
life with a certain sense of blithe entitlement.
We are fundamentally decent, though --peace-loving and compassionate.
We struggle to know the right thing and to do it.
And we are, the overwhelming majority of us, people of faith, believers in a just and loving God.

Some people -- you, perhaps --think that any or all of this makes us weak.
You're mistaken. We are not weak. Indeed, we are strong in ways that cannot be measured by arsenals. Yes, we're in pain now.
We are in mourning and we are in shock.
We're still grappling with the unreality of the awful thing you did, still working to make ourselves understand that this isn't a special effect from some Hollywood blockbuster, isn't the plot development from a Tom Clancy novel.
Both in terms of the awful scope of their ambition and the probable final death toll,
your attacks are likely to go down as the worst acts of terrorism in the history
of the United States and, probably, the history of the world.
You've bloodied us as we have never been bloodied before.
But there's a gulf of difference between making us bloody and making us fall.
This is the lesson Japan was taught to its bitter sorrow the last time anyone hit us this hard, the last time anyone brought us such abrupt and monumental pain.
When roused, we are righteous in our outrage, terrible in our force.
When provoked by this level of barbarism, we will bear any suffering, pay any cost, go to any length, in the pursuit of justice. I tell you this without fear of contradiction. I know my people, as you, I think, do not. What I know reassures me.
It also causes me to tremble with dread of the future. In the days to come, there will be recrimination and accusation, fingers pointing to determine whose failure allowed this to happen and what can be done to prevent it from happening again.
There will be heightened security, misguided talk of revoking basic freedoms.
We'll go forward from this moment sobered, chastened, sad. But determined, too.
Unimaginably determined. You see, the steel in us is not always readily apparent.
That aspect of our character is seldom understood by people who don't know us well.
On this day, the family's bickering is put on hold. As Americans we will weep,
as Americans we will mourn, and as Americans, we will rise in defense of all that we cherish.
So I ask again: What was it you hoped to teach us?
It occurs to me that maybe you just wanted usto know the depths of your hatred.
If that's the case, consider the message received. And take this message in exchange:
You don't know my people. You don't know what we're capable of.
You don't know what you just started.
But you're about to learn.

This is REALLY frightening. What I mean is by reading these posts, the United States of America has become a country of wimps, do-gooders who aren't willing to stand up and fight for our way of life. Some of you said you fear for the future of your children. This is precisely why you should fight.

The FREEDOM that you enjoy is not FREE. You must be willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice to preserve it. A person who stands for nothing will fall for anything. I have been on active duty is the US Military for 16 years. It really sickens me that I put my life on the line for YOU and your family everyday and to know that you do not appreciate it. Be that as it may, I would gladly DIE for what I believe in. THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

Dredawg,

You miss the point. Just because we oppose people spewing what at least I consider to be hateful and missplaced anger and also oppose an extrme military response does not mean we are wimps or unamerican. But to infringe on the freedom of others and to cause them harm (I am talking about innocent individuals in palestine and Afganistan) is not only un-american, but the ultimate in hypocracy. I believe we should rise above the actions that have been taken against us, not lower to their level. Do you really think a massive assault is really going to stop terrorism? It has been around for thousands of years.

By the way, I am no way saying don't punish those involved in Tuesday's actions. But to bomb a country like Afganistan because those in the Taliban harbor Bin Laden. An assult like that could destroy the countries infrastucture to a point beyond repair. Are you willing to punish citizens of one of the poorest countries in the world for revnge against a few?

Where do you see wimps Dredawg?

I see people advising we figure out who did it, then whallop them.

I see people saying America is a melting pot, and let's not go screaming "kill all the Arabs."

I see poeple saying they love this country, and we're not going to let these deranged whackos take us down.

Where do you see anyone advising that we not punish those responsible?

Where do see folks wimping out?

I am glad I opened this thread. After reading all I could stomach of a few of the others I had the feeling I lived in a much more internally volitale country than I would like to admit.

I don’t know about anyone else but on Tuesday on my way in to work I cried in my car and prayed to my God, to not allow this to happen. To stop it now as this was innocent people dying. I hope everyone else prays to what ever God they believe in and does the same.

Later at night I turned off all the lights and sat looking my aquarium. I was watching my beautiful Flame Angel swimming around. That was the only comfort that I had the whole day. Lets remember that this was an injustice to humans not just America. Many people from all nations died in the event.

AMC please don't put words in my mouth ... not once did I validate the actions of the terrorists whoever they may be, nor those Palestinians who were actually cheering (not the ones being coaxed).

SPS if you feel my views are slanted please feel free to elucidate further. Just because I am Muslim it does not mean I will always side with a Muslim. For the same reason I despise a Jew who would take innocent lives by walking into a Mosque and opening fire on Muslims while they pray, or an Israeli trooper who can aim at a 3 year old boy and shoot him in the head , I despise a Muslim who will go into a club and explode a bomb, or anyone for that matter who can kill innocent people and claim his actions to be in the name of religion. Much of my opinion is based not only on Media and not Western Media, but media like BBC, but also from first hand accounts from Muslims, Jews, and Christians who have all recently visited the Middle East and conveyed to me what they have seen with their own eyes.

It is also understood that civilian casualties are unavoidable. It is a fact of war and unfortunately war is a fact of life. As long as mankind continues to have difference there will be war. But you must ask yourself is blowing up a club, a Mosque/Church/Synagogue/other place of worship, pharmaceutical factory, school, etc. justified in war? If you can unequivocally answer yes to this question then I challenge your sanity.

Hello. DavidC, I'm not sure what infrastructure you are referring to in Afghanistan. The only infrastructure I see is mass oppression and terrorization through the hands of the Taliban. Women are not allowed to work, go to school, or show a millimeter of flesh in public...without possibly being shot for it. The hospitals are like sewers and the football stadium is used to hang and shoot people. Hindu's are required to wear yellow tags (sound familiar)....this, supposedly, to help the religious police identify them in instances where they are not following islamic law. I'm sure there is more. Just wanted to clarify that. Thanks.
