I work for ECO-Aqualizer. I joined RDO to chat with fellow reefers. I used to be on here as "caecosystems" a while back but made this as my new name. I did not come on here to have anything to do with ECO. I am a hobbyist such as you guys are. I have over twelve years and counting of proffesional aquarium experience. Not that this neccesarily means anything. It is more important what you do in this time then the time itself.
If you don't believe that I did not intend to say anything about ECO, look at all my posts. I am not a con. I sent Righty and Leopard shark an e-mail because I assumed that they were administrators of some kind. I did not want them to talk about ECO on RDO, I just wanted to share information with them about my product. I apologize for permeating the sanctity of Righty's personal space in my decision to contact him, however that is what e-mail is for. I believe that our product is extremely beneficial to all aquarists and was sharing it with people that I thought would check in to it. Righty says some very critical things about a product that he has not even tried, but honestly, we are not to concerned about that. If we can all remember, some plant company tried to sue some people a while back on a plant forum for talking badly about his company. We do not WANT to do this because 1. we believe in the First Amendmant and 2. We are hobbyists too and do not want to tell other hobbysits what they can and cannot say. I implore the RDO admin to monitor the things that the volunteers say a bit though. I feel that no one said anything out of bounds except for Righty's very damning statements such as "It is BS! Do not buy it!". Again, this is not a threat. Just advice. I did not want anyone on RDO to know that I work for ECO because I just wanted to get on and help people out. I am used to doing this in all my work experience and was trying to do it again. Now that you all know, maybe I should leave. If RDO did not mind, I could possibly try to answer questions as best I could. I would ask Sam Gamble (who works for us) and Nelson Herwig ( who does not work for us) to help me answer the questions. If RDO allows me to do this, please keep in mind that I am very busy and cannot answer the questions immediately. I would give it my best shot though. Thank you everyone who takes the time to read this lengthy e-mail. Ciao.....Ben Johnson

If this question is for real, I would be happy to take a stab at it. I just need to know if it is real or not.

You sent me an ad. I found it slightly annoying.
Please don't get fussy that I am talking about your product, thats what message boards are for.

Righty says some very critical things about a product that he has not even tried

This is an empty argument. You do not need to have tried something to have an opinion about it. How can you be critical of putting bleach in your tank is bad if you haven't tried it?

Send me one for free (one of the large ones, my system is 200+ gallons). I will gladly put it on my system.

If we can all remember, some plant company tried to sue some people a while back on a plant forum for talking badly about his company. But you will thinly veil the threat.

Nope, that's a threat. Or, at the lest, the threat of a threat.
Anyway, I changed my posts to state IMO, which should make everyone happy, and I will continue to make it clear that I am posting my opinion on the product.

And you shouldn't leave because you are connect with this product. Just don't get upset if people think it doesn't work.

Ben,

I would welcome any official clarification of the product being discussed here. Feel free to discuss your product with intent of answering hobbyist's questions.

Your participation here is most welcomed, regardless of your professional association. Rest assured, nobody wants you to leave. Your past help offered to our members is appreciated and I hope you continue to be an active member of our community.

I'm sorry if was wrong about the magnetism and the ocean. I just always assumed that the tides were in line with the the moon therefore had something to do with the magnetic pull between the earth and the moon. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. Never mind SM you stated this on your post I just re-read. I really meant tides not waves it was just about 3 am after a long night @ work and a few beers later. Well I guess I can be troll for a day because of my mistake. " Who's that walking over my bridge"?

Two ebbs and two wans daily is not true for most of the coast line. There are many information on the web about tidal information, and google is a good place if you want to learn more. Becareful, some Joe-Six-Cans may have some webpage that can be misleading, but if you stay with academic websites, you will be safe.

The magnetic effect between Earth and Moon is very insignificant. Most physicist and planetary astron. does not care much about magnetic effect between Earth and moon. I feel you maybe confused about magnetic force and gravitational force. There are many similarities between them, but most of the time, they are horses of different color.

How do I respond to the critisism? Well, I do not think that is the proper path to go down. Critisism is critisism, uninformed as it appears here. I am not saying that everyone here is uninformed about magnetism or far infrared. There might even be someone here that knows more about it then I do. But that this is a new concept and that is very different and "inconcievable" to some of you. I have read several misconceptions that have been written in this thread and several good points. I will try to take the time to address some of these but perhaps it might be better to just fire away questions and I, Sam and Nelson will try to answer them. By the way, let me introduce Nelson Herwig to some of you who may not know who he is. Nelson is Curator of Fish at the Houston Zoo for over 27 years. He is the man responsible for identifying the harmful effects that Potasium Cyanide had on fish caught with it in the late seventies. He worked very closely with Steve Robison of Cortez Marine who is now Pres of AMDA. Steve works in the Phillipines and teaches the natives to catch fish with a net instead of chemicals. Anyways, Nelson also wrote a book in 1975 about the proper use of chemicals as used in therapuetics and controls of fish diseases that is still the benchmark. It is sold by Custom Aquatics. He was very good friends with the late Don Dewey (of FAMA) and has written more then 60 articles in scientific journals, trade magazines and has spoken at Symposiums and conferences too many times to count. He has been silent for a while but is now going to publish again because the internal properties of ECO-Aqualizer are a subject that he is well versed on. Let me set one thing straight. We do not pay Nelson a single dime to help us in any way shape or form. He is recently retired and wants to get back to writing again. The effect of magnetism on water is a subject that he has over 20 years of research on and he now wants to share it. Okay.....If I have the permission of RDO, ask questions and I promise I will try to answer them as best as I know how and hopefully in a somewhat timely fashion. I will try to get Sam Gamble on the site too if that is okay with RDO to help me out for I am not a "scientist". I am a dedicated hobbyist.

Reef Guy had a question about SuperZoo. We decided not to go to Superzoo because we had two weeks to prepare for it. We may not be at MACNA because we have decided to go to the H. H. Bakker show in OCT. I promise you, it is very chaotic controlling a rapidly growing company. Decisions are not made lightly and many of them have to be made in the course of a day. We are not millionares who can go to any show we like all year long. Do you know how much it costs to stay at a hotel and get a table and on and on.....It gets expensive. And not just once. There is this show and that show and this show over here and on and on as well. To make a long story short, we decided to spend our money at Bakker.

Ignoring the credential fest, I have a question.

Do you have any data from any studies showing the effects of the product? I find none on your website.

Regarding Righty,
I do not want this to be a she said he said thing. I appreciate Righty's input. I just think that telling people not to buy it is ludicrus when one has not tried it themselves. If Righty wants to try it he may buy it like everyone else and promptly return it and get his money back if he so desires. I want to engage in a honest debate. I don't know all the answers but I have nothing to hide (save trade secrets). People like Righty will buy the ECO and already have it set in their minds that nothing is going to happen. Maybe I am wrong Righty but you seem like a very passionate person and quick to judge. [/quote]

...It can get worse when people show up with credentials, and luckily, it is not at that point yet.
Well, a new milestone had reached, I guess.

Righty asked about additional info about a product. I know that none of us should expect a seller to provide any info, but he just wonder if you have information that you(as a hobbyist) or people you know can share with us. We are as open as any potential customer, but we just want to be more educated before "invest" any money on it.

Think of it a a way to brag about the thing that you work on, but he just want it in a specific format instead of, say, customer's witness or qualitive description.

Any chance, Lifer, seeing as how the company you represent says they have several thousand hobbyists in Europe and Asia already using this product (according to the email sent to wetwebmedia) you'll also be representing at the Interzoo show in Nurnberg next May? If so, I'll be there with Bob and crew. If you folks have some hard science to back this up, we'd all love to see it.

Micah00, no worries, eh? Something tells me you have a little better than a 6th grade edumucation. :P Good lord, though, believe me when I tell you I know your pain. (We need a "DOH!" smiley guy...the one smacking his forehead.)

Regarding Righty,
I do not want this to be a she said he said thing.

Then address me directly.
This discussion is public and we are both here, so is no 'he said she said' to be had.

I appreciate Righty's input.

Do you? I think it that were true you would at least respond to me, instead of writing as if I am not here, and you would address my points.

I just think that telling people not to buy it is ludicrus when one has not tried it themselves.

I respect that you feel that way, but, as I pointed out above, it is an empty argument. Again, you don't have to try everything to have an opinion on it - I dont have to try murder to tell you not to do it.

If Righty wants to try it he may buy it like everyone else and promptly return it and get his money back if he so desires.

I don't want to try it. I think it is hogwash. If you want me to try it, send me one.

I want to engage in a honest debate.

Respectfully, so far it doesn't seem that way as you have not addressed any of my questions.

I don't know all the answers but I have nothing to hide (save trade secrets).

At least respond to the questions. If you don't have the answer, let us know that. No responding to questions makes it look like you are trying to hide something, and not engage in an honest debate.

People like Righty will buy the ECO and already have it set in their minds that nothing is going to happen.

Why in the world would I buy something if I had my mind set that would do nothing?

Maybe I am wrong Righty but you seem like a very passionate person and quick to judge.

Yes you are wrong, and I am not sure why you have come to that conclusion. You emailed me about your product weeks ago, and I began researching it then. I have read your website, many of the links, and every online discussion on the topic that I could find - RC has many. I have spent much time before coming to a conclusion about your product and I don't really like the fact that you are so quick to judge me with no information about me whatsoever.

Now please, do you have any data from any studies showing the effects of the product?
