I don't know if it would really be worth the time and effort to dig up past photos, try to photoshop in newspaper photos in an attempt to make them look current all for a $50 Marine Depot gift certificate (or whatever the prize may be) :D :D :D

Hopefully most of us understand the point of this entire endeavor, which is to learn, gain extra experience, and try our hand at something new.

Any one of us could set up another tank with the extra equipment we have lying around, and frag stuff out of our existing tanks. Easy. Where the fun comes in is in watching others peoples progress as well as our own, along with the challenge of a whole new tank to mess up.. err mess with

Personally, I intend this tank to be something different that I have not done yet. Cuz I have done tanks. Set ups, equipment, livestock. So now I intend to do something different, I just hope my brackish crab will be allowed entry into this reef contest :D I kinda need his help to come in under gallonage, since I'm stealing HIS tank to do this with 8)

I agree. I'm kinda excited to start. I hope everyone is willing to share techniques even if it's after the fact. There's a lot of learning potential with this many people.

Me, too and I'm hoping that "reef tank" is a liberal term, I'm looking more towards a biotope setup I've always wanted to do.

Hmmmm, I have always wanted to try and set up a Dendronepthya tank with an overhang and a 'current' for flow to try and contribute some to the miniscule bank of knowledge about keeping these corals. Can't really do that in this competition though. Too small.

Has anyone actually kept dendro alive for any decent period of time? That would be something :D :D :D My guess is it would have to be a species tank, but worth a shot.

So little time, so many challenges.

PS Off topic, but have any of you ever kept a flashlight fish?
