I just plumbed in a b**ch'in AquaLogic 1/3 horse chiller with a Medusa Dual Controller, which contols a heater and chilller.

I am happy that I will not have a 6*F temp swing anymore.

I used those end caps before and really do not like them. They can come loose and short out.

I know what you mean Wazzel, but as far as space goes, you can really pack bulbs in with them. Until they make a better design, these are the best for the job.

They really are not to be used with VHO Bulbs. Ditto Wazzel. I have heard of horror stories to include a house burning down.

Why not go with these?

That's what I use. I'm happy with it and it's very secure. :D

These are the ones I use and they do not take up that much room. Much more secure and splase resistant.

I personally had three of the caps you are using short out. The come partially off at most any little bump.

Pat, the white german endcaps will fit. They extend the lenth of the bulb about the same as the black ones you are using.

Hey Pat (if I may...), how did you attach the metal pieces to your tank for the "metal center brace"? I know you used pop rivets to connect them to each other but what about connecting the end pieces to the tank?

I just looked over some of the shots you posted and everything looks really neat and organized. Care to post some shots of the inside of the hood and the sump with everything running now?

Thanks! :D

How long it is, doesnt worry me. The with of those sockets are much more than the gray ones. That is why I perfer the grays. Find me something that is dependable as the whites and small as the grays and I will change.

looks great. i just bought a 120 gallon tank also and your thread gives me some good plumbing ideas.

Thanks, they are not all my ideas, but I feel I should share since it was shared with me. That way we can all step forward as reefers.

I just sat the thing on the brace. I should have siliconed it. I will post some more shots. The hood is pretty much as it is when I first posted it previous pages. I will post a pic of the sump in full operation with my macro algae growing.
