topmav1,

I thought you had a 29G main tank which, in my opinion, is not too hard to diassemble. -
-That's you can use a Home depot 27G rectangular bucket to hold all the corals and rocks for a short period and catch every single fish out of the main tank.
-Make sure you don't disturb the sand bed so that the MT water is still in good stage.
-Put the corals back to the MT and stay fallen of fish for 6 weeks.
-Catch ALL the fish out and put them in the QT which I believe is your 10G. MAKE SURE your QT is ready to handle the ammonia. Amquel + can handle the ammonia and still let good bacteria to decompose the ammonia in the water. However, general test kit will not work. With this setup, I am assuming your are using hypo like other have suggested treatment.
-another way to treat the fish is some kind of copper or medicine. I found "no-ick" has been very effective. With this method, you need to battle the ammonia by using Amquel + again but don't think good bacteria in the Qt will do any good as the medi will also kill them. You will need to constantly change MATCHED water to stay save for the fish. With this treament, 2 x 48 hours will kill almost any ich I have seen but the problem is you will have no good MT to hold the fish back when the treament ends at 2 x 48 hours. If you continue to put the fish in the QT without good bacteria, the condition of the QT is going to be very harsh on the fish in the following weeks.

I think you can also ask Dom from Diamonds of Reef for some treatment insights as I was told he treats all his incoming fish rigorously.

NOTE: you are treating two parts of your system,
1)Your main tank without fish for 6 weeks
2)Your fish that host the ick

Good Luck

Hey Wingo. I have a 90 gallon MT. I bought a 29 gal as a QT but I am currently using a 10 gal as the QT. I could be totally wrong here but I am going to treat the Kole tang b/c he def has Ich but I am going to leave the other fish in the MT. So far they haven't shown any signs of Ich. My QT is def not able to handle 4 fish right now so I am going to treat the Kole and keep the QT running even after he heals just in case my other fish show signs of Ich. I think taking them out now will be more detrimental. If they do show any signs I will be prepared to move them right away.

Can I go pick up a couple of Neon's and put them in the Main tank to help prevent the other fish from getting it??????

No sir. Add nothing to your tank for 6-8 weeks. You should actually be TAKING ALL FISH OUT. Leaving the fish in your tank is NOT expediting the process. You are most likely lengthening the time it takes to eradicate the parasite.

Well, the Kole tang is gone. It was actually looking well last couple of days. No spots or anything. Salinity was a perfect 1.09. Did a 50% water change sunday night. He wasn't interested in food though...tested the pH before I left and it was 7.8. Didn't test ammonia this am.
Lesson Learned:
Make sure you are ready to RUN the QT before you set up the QT. Not sure what killed him but when I took him out of the tank...everything changed. He looked very unhappy. Not sure if I did the right thing or not but...hopefully next time this won't happen.
