Although I don't advocate the approach of certain individuals, I believe the concern regarding questions surrounding the Orbitech patent was directed at the following:
If Orbitech were to pursue litigation against Pacsun how would this impact warranty issues? Let's face facts...Orbitech most likely has attorneys on payroll so they can outspend a small company's ability to defend/litigate its position. This is how Solaris went out of business. Once the company is defunct we all saw the decline in value and in parts availability for the product. This raises concerns with any new product that may be accused of patent infringement. To make an investment in a product, in my instance possibly $3000, and then perhaps loose the ability to obtain parts, warranty/customer service, firmware updates etc would be a tremendous loss & possibly render the product useless. The breakeven point for any LED light when comparing w/MH & associated electricity costs is typically 3 to 5 years therefore if the manufacturer is put out of business prior......you get the point. The product seems great however this is a tremendous consideration. Just my 2 cents.......
hmm... looks like Shine Tech power supply-very standard specs-easy enough to find replacement in case of issues in the future.
Thanks Felix.....sounds like a reasonable explanation.

Yes!...I?ve had them for a couple of months now, but just started to use them 5-6 wks. ago. So far everything looks nice, SPS shows fine grow tips and fine polyp extention, only problem is that I now need to use my heater (room temperature around 72 F). I?m using the Vortech MP40 so no additional heat there. I?m running tank at 77 F. The good thing is that now I?m able to control tank temperature within 1/10 degree Celsius year round no matter outside temp..nice tank leif. notice any significant changes to the corals after the switch over to led's? i think you had these led's for a couple of months already right?
anyway - enjoy aquaillumination that you have
