Way to go hippo. I've heard a lot of skimmerless succes stories on this site, and plan on doing so when I set up mine. Keep us posted on any side effects.

what are you using to cover your tank, I know glass can slow the gas exchange, but I don't want it open as I'm afraid I'll lose fish to jumping.

Did you cycle the tank with lr or fish? I know die off could be of concern for cycling with lr, but I know some people have done it. Any thoughts? Is it really irrelavant?
