Be patient! Mine wud first just stick his head out at meal time, later freq sightings behind the rocks. Now out behind the rocks most of the time w/freq sightings in front of the rocks.

Well, after five day, long after I'd given up on him, guess who pop his head out! 8O
Must say, I'm pretty impressed with the quality of Saltwaterfish.com
My LFS always says, "unless you want a nitrate factory, use more than 3" or less than 1"" My new tank has been set up for about 4 months and I can second try not to skimp on skimmer and pumps.
I went vho route (I have a 30" deep) and will probably upgrade to MH at some point. I already have run...
I don't think I'm so lucky. I've pretty much given up on him. Saltwaterfish.com has six day guarentee, but doesn't do much good if you can't find a corpse!! that'll teach me not to qt!!
I'm using a 72g bow front for sump and would like to know volume. It's 48x18-12x22 (18 at widest and 12 at ends) with skimmer section 15" high and 17" long on one end and fuge 15 high and 14 long on the other, return in center taking the remaining 48" length (~15") with about 7" deep water. I'm...
guess i shud be more specific. tank is empty, so got tired scrubbing w/vinegar, so took a razor to it. the pumps were more difficult so they didn't get cleaned as well.
My Mag 2 came with a sponge for the intake. Does that mean it can be used as a sponge filter (obviously seeded in my sump) for bio sponge filter in my QT?
Up and running! I had a few setbacks - it's taken FOREVER!.
First, the overflows were so loud that my wife wouldn't let me run the pumps, 'cause you couldn't hear the TV over the noise. Then the sump developed a leak - I wasn't about to completely dismantle it - I may be sorry, but just...
I now have the new 110g up and running. Live rock transferred from the old to seed the base rock. New southdown for shallow bed in display and about 3 inches in fuge area of sump (72g bf). I was planning on adding the sand from the old tank to the fuge, but man it looks crappy and full of...
I haven't looked at Melev's yet and I don't have a drawing, but I can tell you how I'm setting mine up.
My return pump is plumbed straight back to the main tank and has a ball valve so I can dial back the flow if it's too much.
The main tank has two drains - one straight to the skimmer...
