    Hi A few small (1/8") wooden shims under the feet of the low side of my stand worked for me. No need to drain the tank, drive them in with a block of wood (so you don't break the shim) and a hammer.

    HI Sebastian Braided/reinforced tubing is a little heavier, and is less likely to kink(as Dan & Steve pointed out) I've never had a problem with alga. I do get turnicates and some scaling. Not a big problem though, I have changed my influent lines once in four years.

    Hi Lynn I used this concoction one time when I had low alk., and it worked for me. Take a box of baking soda and split it up in two piles, 6 to 1. Bake the smaller pile in an oven for 30 mins. @450 degrees F(Julia Childs would be proud) I'm not sure how, but this turns the sodium bicarbonate...
