Very cool! You have them in a seperate tank to try to raise them? What kind of clowns are they? My percs spawn every two weeks but I have never attempted to take it past that point. Great work!

I don't know what an auriga is, but the longnose are maybe the sturdiest of the butterflies.

IME it is very difficult to get an accurate result using the half stength test.

If anyone else has one to get rid of after Rich gets his I will be glad to buy it or make it worth your while in SPS frags. :wink:

Ned more info...how long you have had them, where in the tank the are, other corals you have, ect, ect.

I agree that many factors play into what a particular coral looks like as far it's growth pattern. If you want to find out what happens I would move it and see.

Percs will accept many hosts...or sometimes none. Mine have lived in a colt for two years.

Emperator: Is that a gorg next to the Potter's with the blue polyps? Difficult to tell in the pic. Wow!!!

I have used Super Glue gel a couple of times. You need to place them in very low current to get them to hold. Sure nothing wrong with the toothpic method. I have used it on other corals.....Super Glue is easier for me though.

I would darn sure be testing my nitrite, nitrate, and esp. ammonia just to satisfy my own curiosity. Major sliming=major unhappy corals IMO.

Did you use an additive or something like a two part epoxy maybe?

How long have you had them? I have a perc that took well over a year to go from a dull orange to a bright orange. I can't see anything more that you can do as far as feeding. Some fish, like people, might just be different shades of the same color.

I am not familier with sand polyps, at least by that name, but I would be surprised if the green buttons didn't do well for you. I would also be surprised if a nitrate reading of 60 would harm them. They tend to be happier in low light or even shade IME.
