Congratulations on the new addition to your family!!! Many blessings!!!!!

Glad you didn't throw in the towel on your reef! If there were no challenges this hobby could possibly become boring.;)
Best wishes on a healthy, beautiful reef in your future!

thanks. not bad right?...everybody says that leds wash out the colors of corals. i think that is mostly because they put the optics to increase the par too much. in some of the pics you can see the leds almost replicate a halide in the way it spreads.

might have to challenge jerl77, james404, and the others in their t5/halide/led battle lol.

Absolutely "Not Bad"!!

I've been told that LEDs make LPS look translucent. Have you found this to be true?
I will be changing my fixture soon, and not knowing which way to go with the exception of NO MH. Too much heat from them.:( The minute MH come on temp raises 2 degrees within the hour.:smash: I was seriously looking at T5s simply because of the price of LEDs, but I sent Wingo an email with the specs of my tank & canopy. Waiting on a reply, we shall see what happens.
BTW, we have to talk tat, sending you PM.;)

Thank you. No my Lps are not translucent at all under LEDs. It's all about placement and the strategic placement of optics. I had t5 then halide and now LEDs and I will never too back. I have used my reef clubs par meter to record the amount par being produced and it is quite significant. Not to mention lack radiant heat and excellent coloration. If wingo helps you then great, if not I will help you build your own fixture the way you would like it.
I have built.and help build led fixtures for cryptics, Shalco, buddman, and others.

I know they are expensive at first but well worth it in the end.
