thanks Jon. Thats the reflection you're looking at. The tunze is in the back of the rock structure, mounted to a magnet on the right side, pointing toward the overflow. It helps clear detritus from behind the rocks.

It's nice to have SE bulbs again:) I cracked wayyy too many expensive DE bulbs over the past few years :(

I like the SE bulbs, I think having them in the luminarcs the way you do is the best way to go.
now that you've had the 400's for a bit have you noticed any change in the growth or color of the acros? how have they responded to the light?

The color had definitely faded a bit on some acros. I had a little bleaching going on at first but I moved some corals down and shortened the PP a little. The colors are darking up a bit. The growth has been much faster than normal lately but it maybe because I am running a lot of phosban (2 jars in a reactor) which I added about the same time I switched to 400's. I also had an explosion of coraline algae since changing the lighting (which may also have something to do with the phosban?)

I guess some bleaching is normal when you almost double the light over the tank

what's the Po4 now with 2 jars of phosban running?
remember when people were scared of phosban :)

Yeah I wasn't scared at that time :) The phosban really helped to clear up my rocks. All my red turf, slime, and green stuff is almost gone:D and it seems that the coraline is out competing it. I'm more excited about getting pink rock than growing corals.

I posted this in the "I'm Drunk" thread. Ignore the Jackass part :D
Thought I'd post here to keep my log going. The past few months has been great. Everything has been growing fast, colors are good, and my polyp extension has increased a ton! If you're having PE problems I suggest trying Phol's Coral Vitalizer. FYI there is no more sand in this tank. I was sick of it blowing all over the place :D It was removed a few months back.

Just updating. Growth has been good. I removed quite a few corals for room but I am currently holding a few corals for a friend. I've been changing the phosban every 3 weeks and doing water changes at about the same time. Feeding a little lighter than usual lately.

I can definately see you cleaned house. You just going to let them fill in or get something else?

Got any recent skimmate pics? Why did you lighten up on feeding?

Thanks guys. Pedro I lightened up on the feeding mostly because I have been busy :) I just cleaned the skimmer cup this morning. I'll post an update in a couple days.
This new olympus camera that I have takes $hitty full tank shots. My old nikkon coolpix 5600 was much better.
