Wow, nice pic ups! You are lucky to be able to get such nice stuff for cheap. My birthday was today so I got myself some goodies as well.

Anyhow tank is looking very nice, its going to be sweet when those all grow out!

Very nice.

Do you feed your acans and chalice? If so, what do you feed them and how often?

Thanks guys. I feed the acans, rics, and duncans 3 times a week. The favia I feed whenever the sweepers are out when the lights are on, maybe twice a week. The chalices haven't been receptive to it. But, they are quite small, only one 'eye' so hopefully as they grow they will. I feed mysis, clams, and shrimp cut fine then soaked in Selcon.

Do you just toss the food in a hope for the best, or do you somehow spot feed them?

After I broadcast feed mysis to the fish in the tank is when I feed the corals. I use a type of fine forceps I get from the hospital (tweezers really) to carefully lay the food on the corals. I only offfer it to the LPS that extend mesentary filaments so I know they are receptive. The rics and duncans don't do that so I offer to them as a matter of routine. If they latch onto it, they are hungry  Most of them do as they are 'trained' that when the mysis hits the water they will be fed. It's tedious, but over the years I have found it better to target feed carefully rather than overdo it just pitching the food in. I know Gresham and others don't like the practice saying it irritates the coral but I disagree. Blowing food at them causes retraction, carefully laying food without touching the polyp with the forceps seems to work well. If any gets away from the coral, the fish (esp that dottyback) latch right onto it. Heck, that dotty will take food directly off the forceps now. It's easy with the nano to do things that way and much better way to limit nutrients.

Speaking of pretties...Louey ya need to post up more pics of your tank. Oh and Ben? Happy Belated Birthday!

Some very nice eye candy there. 8)

I am now torn between a BB SPS tank in two years and one better suited to a mix of small LPS and zoas, rics etc. You're tempting me back towards the second option!

Never really had the desire to keep the coloured stick type tank. They are far too fussy for my schedule ;) . Besides, I like the mix of textures and colors.

It's becoming a compelling argument. Trouble is, the best LFS I know in Tokyo does little but SPS. I think I'll have to find somewhere else if we move back...

Trouble is, I have two years. I keep wanted to start threads up here asking for advice, but know full well that I'll change my mind 45607 times before actually starting.

So I have decided to take co-ownership of your tank instead. I think we need a tang. I like those Sohals. :D

*Tom's finger pauses over the complete transaction button as light dawns in his eyes*

You have a point!

BTW, I've been trying and failing to decide which of your new purchases I like best. I'm thinking the Prism Favia, but all the rest are pretty sweet as well..

I will post some pics later this week, thanks for asking Tom. Nothing much new, but I am afraid your favia is showing some signs of tissue recession. I think the other favia was stinging it. I've moved it and am hoping for the best.

Oh dear, sorry to hear it. Hope moving it solves the problem. Would be cool to see picts if you have time to take some. Know how hectic you are, so don't worry if you have to keep me waiting a bit longer...
