can someone explain how nutrients and nitrates are linked.
can you have some nutrients in your water and keep the nitrates down?

Yes, we all have different levels of nutrients in our reefs. The way the term nutrients is used on all the reef websites basically makes it a level of waste, not like a vitamin the body needs :D

The taller one is a reefmania media reactor with carbon in it and shorter one is used for phosban, I use about a gallon of carbon a month and 300gm of phosban. The tank behind them is a surge device for my prop tank(pool). The round blue drum in the corner is a 35 gallon RO\DI tank for top off
