Isn't marcorocks dry base rock?

This is what's claimed on the site:

Both are now Pre Cycled in isolated systems

and in the dark, they ship 100% free of pests

and 99.9% free of excess organics

Giving you a Smart Start™ you can count on!

Well wasn't all base rock "live" when it was in the ocean? Marcorocks has pretty much done all the cooking (as compared to other companies).

this looks like dry base rock to me.

The base rock I'm talking about hasn't been in the ocean for a while,lol.. Here is a picture of the caribsea base rock I'll be using.. This is petrified coral not bleached or chemicaly treated.. I have peeled dried seaweed off of Marco rocks in the past.. I don't know about the new stuff they have..

that is the rock that I used 5 yrs. ago to start my tanks. Shipped dry, from Caribsea, I had a pallet of 1000 lbs.,used in both tanks, top to bottom, with a few pieces of Figi, and Tonga live rock to 'seed' the tank. Very quickly, you could not tell the 'base' from the live! check out the thread about my setup, and I dare you to tell me which was the "real live rock". BTW, your buddy Galantra, just picked up a few 30lb pieces of this unseeded rock, from me, for his big build!

Natureef denitrifier is the best one.. All others are basically no good especially sulfur denitrifiers..
went back and found an old link you provided to north coast pet. how long does the quart/gallon size nitragone last you? what is the initial cost and operational cost/month or year? once you started the system must you use it forever? what about the nitragone....is that the only option as feeding solution? since you have been using this system for many years, you have a thread on this? i really value your opinion/experience on the subject.
any further info. is appreciated. been battling nitrate forever and i'm tired.
thanks, tom

Okay back to the topic,,lol and the build.. So I'm going to have to run about 2 more lines to the stand.. But get this my box is old as SHHHhh,,lol.. This will be fun.. Decided to angle the drains toward the back so the light isn't right on top of the drain melting it and hetaing the water on the way down to the sump..
Oh yeah, these drains will look like rock after I make the aragocrete covering for them..
