not sure about the skimmer change it has only been one day i know and i cleaned the crap out of the new one so i know its gonna take time but the bm nac7 was pulling out alot more im gonna give it a week and see

Yeah i still have the nac7 gonna give it a while i think its just gotta break in also but im just used to seeing alot darker crap and im still dialing it in

Gary let me know if you are looking for a reactor ... Know someone selling a koralin with a controller and everything for a great price.

Ca reactor is a lot easier to monitor and control IMO.

I am still using an old school dual MRC which at that time when I got it was considered top of the line and it still works well for me. There a few out there with better designs now like the mentioned Koralin, Geo and even the newer designed MRC with the internal spray bar.

im dosing 150 mils of cal and alk a day and 30 mils of mag aday to keep my numbers at 440 cal alk 8.9 and mag 1440 will the reactor do the same thing im just not familiar with a cal reactor and im nervous

it will do that and more...I was dosing 180 ml of cal and alk a day in my 90 before I got the reactor and I'm using the same reactor for my 170..I just have to replace the media and C02 more often now..

Hi Gary,just wondering why you are contemplating a reactor and not staying with the doser you just got? Can you at some point not dose enough for your tank or is a reactor more cost effective ? If so by how much.

Me personally I like the idea of dosing if you test and need more you just up your dose no media to worry about, no co2, no regulator.

I mite be missing something but I was just wondering if eventually

I will be needing a reactor if I have a sps dominent tank.

Hey mike i am very happy with the doser dont get me wrong i just am trying to learn as much about the reactors as possible only problem with me is my tank is in the middle of the house so ph is usually on the low side and i know reactors lower the ph even more
