Can you go up threw your attic and (quote from Reefkeeping) " run a pipe or tubing from the outside to the air input of a skimmer, where fresh, exterior air is rapidly mixed with the tank water. Be advised, though, that if the aquarist happens to live in an area where insecticides are periodically sprayed for mosquito control (such as in many metropolitan areas of the South), it is important to place some type of carbon filter at the air intake to prevent these chemicals from entering the aquarium." thus raising your ph.

I did this and it helped. I still need to hook up some type of carbon filter just incase.

Theres that and or tell the wife and kids to stop breathing so much causing all that co2 in t house. lol j/k

ok how hard is it to set up and dial in im being honest a little intimidating
its not that bad when your transitioning from a dosing pump...you just set it up while the doser is still connected, then over the course of a few days you start to cut the dosing down, and then on the reactor your increasing the co2...if you need any help let me know...im right in port jeff sta.

Gary, It takes a week or so to dial in, but once it's dialed in you really have nothing to do but refill the CO2 and Reactors. I know it seems complicated but its really not bad. Like Jaftica advised, keep your dosers on line and slowly phase them out.

The only other advice I can offer is to be sure to buy a CR with the PH probe so you can always monitor PH in reactor and buy a good CO2 regulator. I recommend either the Aquarium Plants Regulator or the Pinpoint Regulator.

You can get CO2 from Airweld over on Waverly Ave. near you.

well im dosing 180 cal 150 alk and 50 mils a day to keep my tank at 420 cal 9.3 alk and 1460 mag i think a calcium reactor might be better any ideas on what to get which one to get for my tank ???

jaftica i do agree with you...it makes it almost effortless.
but look at the amounts he is dosing.... ^^^ that is not that bad. i remember talking to jeremy not to long ago and he was telling me almost 500ml of alk a day....now that is crazy.

just remember as far the reactor goes... have it run without co2 entering then adjust slowly and monitor everyday for a few weeks. then it is all about adjusting the output ...aka the effluent.

the best write up that i have seen and the one i have used as my reference is meleev reef.

I used that one also bro...lol, he isnt dosing that much, but i think he is having issues with the salinity, as a result of the dosing.
