UPDATE - Got this email from Marineland.. I got some work to do!

Hello Marc,

I am a customer service representative assigned to your email inquiry regarding your defective 90g Perfecto tank.

Please be aware of our sincere concern regarding your experience with our product and know we will work with you to ensure your issues are addressed as quickly as possible.

To begin this process we will require the following to be able to validate your warranty on your purchase:

1. A copy of your sales receipt for the tank and the stand you maintained the tank on.
2. Your contact information, including home address and a convenient phone number
3. I just received an email including a photo of the tank itself, so that won't be required!

Please forward this information as soon as possible and we can begin the process of validating your warranty for possible tank replacement. Also know that if you have receipts for the livestock you have lost, pictures of the damaged flooring, sofa, laptop, etc. we could, once your warranty is validated, submit a claim to our liability insurance company for potential reimbursement for some or all of these damages as well.

You know what? I would go to the store and ask them to print you out new receipts. Nothing fraudulent, just the facts. They can backdate them and all. That way even if Marineland calls to verify they would have no problems backing up the receipts. I really don't think they'd or that they should have issues with this except if they're afraid that Marineland would put it on them for selling you a perfecto tank and a deep blue stand and pin it on the different manufacturers being the cause.

It's worth a shot. When I move and buy my next house I'm going to keep every damn receipt down to a purchase of phosban in a fireproof safe lol.

they did say they would help me out with receipts if i didnt have some.

havent been reimbursed or got the replacement tank yet but i picked up this....

Glad to see youre back in the game. Theres nothing worse than investing your hard earned money into a business that has no shame screwing people over. Definitely go to the BBB if things dont work out. But on a positive note, it looks like things are going well and in your favor! Rock on!

For what? The BBB is a joke, they have the 'authority' to do nothing...do you know anyone that checks with the BBB, BEFORE making a purchase?
Their reviews/complaints, are useless, and most are closed out even if the problem is not resolved.

thanks man.. much appreciated.. i bought the tank from someone on the forum.. couldnt wait.. hehe.. i'll sell the replacement tank once i get it ..

i'll keep updating progress as it happens. still keeping my fingers crossed...

been a long time.. heres an update..

so the new tank is ready to be delivered. they also started putting together receipts for me for the whatever livestock i lost. gathering all the reciepts for damaged rugs n carpets n stuff to get them sent over to Marineland.

i'm already up and running with a new set up. bought nanoaquatic's oceanic 120g. and love it.

keep you updated on how it goes with Marineland's insurance. Happy holidays everyone.
