Wingo, How many you want to bring back? I can carry about 16 metric tons into either Victorville Ca, or Jacksonville FL in Sep.

WOW. I wish I have the money! Even for just aluminium, it will break my bank.:smash:

If I have the money, I still would not do that to compete with James.
If I do have the money, I rather realize my own design haha. I still think the design of ANY commercially packaged fixture so far is still far from the their price warrants and/or I would like to keep for my own use.

I just want one or two for comparing and testing.

That would be great timing, as we can meet at Macna Orlando.

BTW what plane carries that much weight?

Off topic..

It can carry more if I make a stop somewhere between southern China and Hawaii. Some of this aircraft may make it to our tanks as "heat sink" ;)

No problem, I'll just work carefully.
I just ordered the LED's through the groupbuy so that knocked off about $100+ from the estimate
$5.15 for XR-E RB
$6.25 for XP-G R5
Going to do 60% XRE and 40% XPG
Also bought a few extras just in case I mess up a few LED's :)

im thinking about getting a led light for the marineland 70g cube, which is 30x30x18. what led fixture would work best? i wanna be able to grow sps on the bottom of the tank and have the light cover the entire tank.

Which drivers are you going with? or you are using pucks and transformers?

Where is this group buy thing at?

Most likely pucks and transformers. I would use the meanwells with a controller, but I'm not 100% sure how to make it work, I believe people are using Profilux controllers, but the Profilux controllers seem rather pricy.

I plan to play around using my Apex's wave control function, which have a 1-10V output the Meanwell needs. The same output can be achieved from any other current aqua controllers + the Neptune Tunze wave controller box.

I did some output voltage measuring and it looks promising right now.

How does the aquacontroller do this?

If using ProfiLux II

Aquarium Illumination ready
TMC aqua ray compatible
8 channel illumination control for dimmable and non-dimmable lamps
Tunze ready for up to 8 pumps
8 channel dosing pump control
Cloud simulation through random generator, thunderstorm calculation
Any 1-10V device compatible
USB onboard for easy PC connection
PC-interface, LAN and WLAN option, operation with free Windows™-Software ProfiLuxControl II possible
Sunrise and sunset
Moon phase simulation, calendar-based
Control of speed-variable current pumps (ebb/tide and wave simulation)
Rainy days, programmable
Feed pause for pumps
Operation hour meter for lamps
Burning-in mode for fluorescent tubes
Battery-buffered real time clock
Connection option for external display
Display of reminder texts (e.g. "Filter change!")
Control of up to 24 switchable power sockets
8 clock timer programmable
Child protection via PIN-code
Simple and intuitive operation, all settings are made in form of interactive dialogues
All settings are stored in a non-volatile storage (EEPROM) even during power failures
Computer is expandable with 1 additional module
Several aquarium computers can be networked
Not upgradeable to Plus II or P3
...
ALL profiLuxs can dim lights, depending on what dimmable lights you have will depend on what else you require for example

1-10V dimming - requires nothing more than the cheap interface box

AC dimmable ballasts requires the Power bar 2 Dim

Ai LED control requies the Ai control cable supplied by us for free when purchasing a GHL

TMC aqua ray requires LED-control1 an in expensive control box

Ecoxotic LED requires an AC dimmable power bar

DIY LED is driven by 1-10v (such as your pucks )and is interfaced using EVG-AP-2F card.

I guess my aquacontroller jr is too outdated :lol2:

Maybe not.. you can use it with a Aquasurf, best to find one cheap used one somewhere. Otherwise I would invest in a Apex.

I have not measured the output on my AC3P with Aquasurf yet, but I do remember it is powered by the Tunzes so you may have to find another source of power. You will also be limited on the number of code lines on the Jr, reducing the functionality as a controller.
