Kessil has a controller.

There is 2 adjustment screws. One for the main burners (you really need a manometer for this) and one for the pilot. Im surprised the gas company didn't take care of this for you. Changing the gas valve may just solve the problem for you but if it dosent most likely its the pilot assembly.

If you adjusted the main burner screw you will need a manometer to get it back to the correct setting.

The pilot is way to big. Are you sure your adjusting the right screw. And from the pics of the burners are you sure you don't have a leak

Have you looked into the kessil lights. Have a shimmer more like halides. I believe charlietuna has them on his tank check out his tank thread.

A UV for a reef has to do with the flow. You need a manufacture that will give you a flow rate for a reef its more flow. The whole you kill the good is then not an issue. The UV BRS sells are nice.

As long as its the outlet side its fine just don't do the intake side. There designed that they can be throttled back I believe its called a passive pump but not 100 percent on that.
