  1. Getting Copper out of a tank?

I would just run a polyfilter. I have turned FO with high copper concentrations over to reefs with no problem. I think this concept of things absorbing copper and then leaching it back out it a little blown out of proportion.
  2. are long spine urchins reef safe?

Who revived this post? I saw my name as the author and I was like "I did not post about long spine urchins?" This post was a year and a half ago! Anyway, since it is revived, I ended up not getting a long spine and got the "100% reef safe" blue tuxedo urchin. He was fine for a week or so and...
  3. HI!, jumm just a quick questiong about bamboo shark egg!!!!

I have hatched three eggs over the past 10 years, so I have some experience. My first shark died of a skin infection, I was inexperienced. My second one did real well until I had a system faliure while on vacation and all the fish in my tank died. My current shark I have had for nearly two...
  4. Rave reviews for Joe's Juice

This is a GREAT product. It is definitely not kalk paste. The anemones literally melt in front of your eyes. I thought it was going to take days for them to die: seconds later they were gone. Yes, the big ones needed two applications, but who cares, this stuff is awsome. Some of the stuff...
  5. all yellow port jackson shark color morph

Thought this was a cool link. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/03/ ... 67566.html Another oddity I recently saw a picture of was an albino sailfish caught in the Gulf of Mexico. Can't find that link though. Has anyone kept any really rare color morphs of stuff?
  6. Joes Juice vs Aptasia

I had never heard of this stuff. I went to the LFS to get a peppermint and he told me to try this stuff first (to make sure my yellow polyps wouldnt get eaten). I never expected it to work as well as it did. The aptasia seemed to dissolve right in front of my eyes. Some of the stuff landed...
  7. Urchins...

Most consider the blue tuxedo urchin to be the only reef safe urchin. On that premise, I put one in my tank. I noticed my huge pulsing xenia colony slowly getting smaller. I never saw him eating it, but he is the suspect. He went back immediately and I would tell you not to put any urchins...
  8. Live Sand From Beach????

The LFS probably gets the sand from a hundred feet off the beach too. If I lived near a gulf of mexico beach, I would do it.
  9. coral banded shrimp dangerous??

I saw my coral banded lunge out and grab my sabae clown once. He got away fine, but he was caught for a sec
  10. Macro Algae dieing?

Common with Cauperla sp. Often referred to as the algae "going sexual," however, I have yet to see any reproduction after this event. In my experience, it usually happens when the algae has grown a significant amount. Next time, try thinning the algae out a bit now and then, that has helped...
  11. what is the ideal temp for FOLR

After keeping FO tanks for 10+ years, I have found keeping the temp between 80-82 drastically reduces the risk of parasite infections with little effect on the fish. This is my experience.
  12. please identify this algae for me... (pic)

I second diatoms, and I am pretty sure. Most snails eat them, try reducing your phosphate levels
  13. 90 or 72 bow front

definitely the 90. More room front to back for decorations (you can stagger stuff a bit), plus a 6'' larger veiwing area (high).
  14. trumpetfish
