i'm using a nikon D200. most of the time i'm shooting with a tamron 90mm 2.8.

this little guy was one curious eel, he followed me back and forth as I took shots in the tank.

some acros in the display. I'm going to have to do a custom white balance to shoot the display tank. there are some intensely blue bulbs over the tank and they make shooting miserable. I had the WB set at 10K and the shots still came out very blue.

did you photo shop the black background or are you that good with a camera

all the tanks have a black background. I boost the low end in curves to saturate the blacks, and then use the unsharp mask to sharpen the image.
I also set up my camera to make the best image possible. there's a lot you can do once you get into nikons custom settings.

He asked me to post some specs on the tank so here goes:

Fauna Ultralith system (that I don't keep up with too well)
I like to keep things simple, so no chiller (a Box Fan) and no controllers, probes etc.

PO4 0.04
Alk 9
CA 375
MG 1300
200G water changes every week

I feed heavy (6 + times a day)
Mysis, Cyclopeeze, Ultra Clam, Minf, tobiko or masago,Amino acids,
And thats basically it.
