So a couple of things happened this week...

I fixed my HOB filter to skim the surface of the water, so woooo for no more surface crap.

I got a Tunze 9002 for the tank and got it all hooked up and such. So it's skimming away doing it's thing. Sits nicely in the corner of the tank and once everything grows in you won't even notice it's there.

The clowns are chugging away, definitely gotten a lot better at swimming. THey have to with the vortech and all.

I'll show you some water!

I wish I had something to show for this tank so far but everything is starting to take a turn for the worst (as expected with me)

Some sort of unknown microbial or fungus type stuff is/was growing over my SPS and no dipping or amount of water changes seemed to make a difference or even slow the stuff down. I've sadly had to toss some things, frag some frags and now I hope that I got that stuff out of the system. I won't be sure til I start seeing some good signs again.

Funny thing is it only affected millis, slimers, and stylophora. Everything else seems unaffected and is growing well. Everything is pretty brown now due to repeated dipping :( When things regain color and the tank is worth showing, I'll post up.

Rough times in nano's world.

T,

I've been doing sizable water changes using ESV salt. Every Saturday I do about 2gallons, figure the tank only has 5.5 gallons of water after sand and rock. Since I've been dipping, I've been doing larger water changes, closer to 50% every saturday with a .75 gallon water change midweek. Temp/salinty are matched too.

It was suggested that antibiotics might help, but what would that come in the form of? I was wondering if something like Red Slime remover or somethign that treats cyano would help, since it kills the bacteria.
