nice pics Jon,
Can I ask you if your algae blenny likes to scrap against the shell of your clam?
Mine is doing that alot now, causing the clam to close up completely every so often.

I've not seen him do that yet.

In the past I had an algae blenny that would bite the mantle of the clams.

So far so good with this one.

thanks Rich and Mike, the tank is actually looking decent to me now.
the full tank shot does not really show what the tank looks like. I think four more months and the coral will fill out nicely.

I know, I've been waiting to buy a dslr for ten years now.
I still hate the thought of having to buy all the 35mm lens again.
I'm trapped, the medium format digital backs are too $$ and the dlsr's just don't have the quality I want. I don't want to get a system to just to shoot my tank with, lol. someday :)

shooting my tank? or other tanks?

Jonathan,

Great looking pictures! I really like the seastar. Is it easier to keep than a linkia?

peter, this is a linkia, a multiflora linkia. from what I've read it is the linkia with the highest rate of survival in captivity. the often seen blue linkia does not do well in the home reef. to find one that will live you might have go through many different ones, this will represent hundreds that did not make it through collection and shipping just to get you that one blue linkia for your tank. the multiflora reportedly does not suffer the same fate, which is why I ordered it.

the mushrooms are getting pretty large, not sure what to do with them.
I moved them to the front of the tank, they take up the left corner now.
