effen shyttt! terrible day so far! but i will get back to that in a minute
so i have my tank finally fully running, so i have a question. So i have the pvc tube in the overflow where the water goes into the sump, the tube that goes into the sump where all the water goes in is making alot of bubbles and is kind of louder than what i expected. is this normal?

alright so now for the bad part, my tank was pretty much crystal clear yesterday, went to check on it this morning and my tank is cloudy as F*#$ because one of my powerheads decided to loose suction and fall down aimed directly at the sand. What should i do? leave the tank running or let everything settle first then turn everything back on?

tried doing the durso pipe and for some reason i really dont think its working, i put it in and it dangerously overflows the tank almost to the rim of the tank

Your tank or sump should never overflow. The sump should be designed so the DT can handle the volume of water in the return chamber of the sump without overflowing and the sump should be able to handle the volume of water in the DT should you lose power. It sounds like you need to tweak your sump design.

the sump doesn't overflow (never said that) the main tank over flows with the durso that i created, ganna have to tweak that (dammit shoulda bought more end caps!!)

alright so i dont have a pic because i disconnected everything but here is a diagram. alright so lets start from the bottom, i have the sump, the water flows into the sump from flexi-tubing, tube is connected to bulkhead, pvc is in the bulkhead, on top of the bulkhead is the T, connected to the T is the 90 elbow, on TOP of the T is another 90 elbow that connects to the end cap with a hole in the end cap.

SOOOOO is the problem from that extra 90 end cap on top. i think that would be a problem but who knows. in the sump is a model 5 (??) utility pump which i believe is pushing 500 gph

ALSO if i were to put the end cap on the top of the T, its is pretty high from the top of the tank, and i've been reading that it should just be about the same level as the top of the tank. so you think i should just replace that whole pvc with a standard pvc
