Never trust check valves. They are prone to failure.

The safest way to prevent siphon is to drill a small hole in the return just below the water line. So when the power cuts off, the air breaks siphon.

Rocks in the sump are ok. Just make sure you lift them up and clean underneath them during water changes.

'cause both his vortechs are in my tank.....lol.

actually the installer screwed up and sold him the vortechs even though he knew that andre wanted the power heads on the center overflow.

apparently they overlooked the fact that the vortech's dryside.....ummm.....needs to stay dry?!?!??!!

Ahha I see.
I have to ay. The MJ's dont look bad at all. Those things kick some serious butt when modded.

they def are not bad at all.. Only fact i dont like is that they cant be programmed, thanx for all the positive comments guys.. I still have to adjust a lot more (lighting)..

the system does not overflow when off at all.. there still a 1/4 or more tank to fill when off in the fuge:birthday:

Im ordering another jagher heater 300w, since an old heater was sapping me last night in the fuge! no joke.

Tom, did you see what i did w. the socks? what do you think? How are the vortechs doing? they really do look 10x better than the tunzes.. would have been so low profile....

the jager heaters are good....love the ability to fine tune the setting dials.

saw the socks....that should work.

the vortechs are doing great. with 4 of them in the tank, i can make some serious waves.......they would splash out if i put them on max power.....pretty bad ass...lol.

looks like things are coming along pretty well. nice cross hatches!!!

Never trust check valves. They are prone to failure.

Can't agree with this enough, they'll work great for a while but as the system matures baby snail shells/sand/algae will get in there and prevent the valve from closing fully.

Otherwise tanks looking good and like others love the crosshatch triggers.
