I will go out in a typhoon but I don't want any Sissies getting sick all over my nice white boat. And those lightning strikes leave nasty black streaks in the deck.
Bob do you need directions or do you have them saved and are you picking up
SIReefer?
And I don't want to know about rushg hour traffic, you may have to leave your house at 3:00am.
Killerdrgn, are you coming?
Booze, I need to go out and get more of that Cognac. Good stuff.
I have to get some pictures of the baby horseshoe crabs for an article.
And I want to start a tank with just those anemones. They are still doing well.

actually i also need to know what time you usually get back to shore by?

If people get there on time (Bob) 9:00am and we leave by 9:30 we can get back a little after 12:eek:o. It depends on how long we want to stay. It is only a 10 minute boat ride.

Booze you need not bring Cognac. I will of course drink it if you bring it but you don't have to. I changed both water pumps this week, The seawater pump died when I was out with Tuni the other one went the next day.
Remember we split the Cognac...I mean the gas. It is $12.00 a person which almost pays for half of one water pump and an ounce of gas.
I will pay the remaining $4,000,00.
The amphipods are free. I have no Idea if it is legal so if we get arrested, you will need your own lawyer.

OK including me there will be four of us. We have room for one more is someone else wants to come. I can't guarantee the weather.
I will be having breakfast in Port Washington at about 8:00am in a really nice place by the water if you get there early, call me. I will PM you my cell number again.

Wingo, yes it is this wednesday if there is no typhoon.
Bob and Booze and SIReefer are coming, you can call one of them.
I will be at a restaurant a few blocks away for breakfast at about 8:00 am
I sent SIReefer the address of the restaurant.

I am going out for dinner tonight on the boat, it will probably storm but for collecting tomorrow the weather will be perfect for amphipoding and shrimping. Hot and sticky, great amphipod weather (and mosquetoes, gnats, no-see-ums, sand fleas and flies)
I have insect repellent.
But we are Men (I think we are all men) and Men don't have a problem with bugs.
(only Ladybugs)

This is why I go to dinner on the boat. This was the Fourth of July looking to the Bronx.
THat picture is not Photoshopped, it came out of the camera like that, and thats the way the sky looked.

Jhale, of course you could come. The boat has room for seven and we are now six. It will be a little crowded but it is only a 10 minute boat ride at five miles an hour.
We will be wading to shore in water about 5' deep. I always bring a hat and sunscreen as it will be hot. I have been going there all my life and never had a problem, I have no Idea if it's legal but there are no signs and as long as we don't take any food animals like mussels or clams there is no problem.
It is low tide tomorrow just about noon so if we get into the water about 10 or 11 it will be perfect.
I will be at a restaurant a few blocks from the restaurant at about 8:00 am
You can and should bring a camera, a close up lens would be nice. I will bring a dry bucket to carry stuff to shore in.
I am going near there tonight by boat for dinner.
Looking forward to seeing you.

sounds good Paul.

I was planing on bringing my camera, but the wading in 5' of water might be a problem.
I have a feeling I'd fall, or hit a low spot and my camera would be in trouble. i'll look for a waterproof bag to put it in for the walk to shore.

please pm me the address to meet at and any other info I need. I'll call wingo and let him know he has a ride :)

edit: just read your note about the dry bucket, cool.

I will get into the water first to make sure it is not over my head. The bottom there is sand and there are not many rocks or holes to fall in but it is better to be safe.
When I went last week with Tuni I anchored in water a little too shallow and the outdrive picked up some sand and pebbles that caused me to destroy both water pumps. My outdrive hydrallics don't work so I can't raise my outdrive.

Still you should have some zip lock to protect it in case the lip fell open.

Boozeman already mentioned to join me for the Hong Kong Western Style breakfast near my place, so do you want to join. If you pass by on the way, wann joinn us in the morning. Actually, I think we don't need that many cars. May be Boozeman can car pool over from my place and you par your car around here.
