I have a friend who has a 60 cube reef. He has had a problem with what appears to be redf bubble algea growing on his live rock. it has been removed a vouple of times and keeps copming back even after the rock was scrubbed . Emarald crabs will not touch it. I do not have pictures at this time ...

it might take you a little time if the population is high or if you are feeding heavy. Copperbands do nip at corals , so thats somthing you might want to keep in mind . Also I have heard that LFS's are selling camel backs as peppermints. if that is the case they do not eat aptasia John

I used Peppermint shrimp. I have heard people tell me that they don't always work but my tank was infested with them. I put in 2 and in a mtter of a week it was clean. They worked great for my and a fun to have. John Wray

I would recommend the 175's and add a fan to the hood. they are cheap enough . just use a PC power supply fan and a 12 volt dc power supply that you can buy at radio shack. or get one off of an old answering machine. Face it so it is pulling the air off the bulbs this way it is not blowing dust...

I have my foxface in a 72bow reef and he never touches any of my coral. However he is getting BIG. I will be going to a 180 soon because of the fox and a trigger I have so I would say they are perfectly reef safe as long as you watch those spines John Wray
