I have a 120 gallon using the ecosystem method. I am interested in using RO/DI. Does anyone have experience with this? The reason I am doing this is for the reduction of phosphate and silicates. My salifert test indicates there is no phosphate in the tap water. Can I trust this test?

I purchased a open red brain coral yeasterday. Shortly acclimation my pesky cleaner shrimp went to dance on it. The brain responded by contracting and spitting some brown threadlike material out of it's mouth. Any ideas what this stuff is? This morning all polys appeared open. All seems OK

My cleaner shrimp (lysmata amboinensis) keeps dancing on top of my bubble tip anemone. Is this the shrimp's feeding behavior? The bubble tip immediately retracts. Will the anemone get used to this invasion? I guess there is not much I can do short of removing the offender.

I recently set up my tank with flexible pvc. It worked great. Easy to work with. Make sure you teflon tape all threaded fittings. Mine leaked and I had to go back and do the repair. Good luck!
