I had the same experience with the A. hoeksemai
David many of them are maricultured. So far I haven't had problems with them. Most have colored up more than when I got them and all are growing. Colonies like this definitely are more sensitive than tank raised frags. I'm going to have to stay on my toes taking care of this system. The acro in the 4th pic is holding color very well and showing more intense color from tips. If I can grow it out a little the first frag is yours.
All this Hoeksemi talk sent me to Coral Theory today. As I walk in the door, the first person that I see is Randy

Thanks Steve. If you need any advice or help with your new tank just send me a PM. Us fisherman got to stick together
I need help rich. I need help growing all my sps into large colony....kakaka!
Yes so agree with you on start tank with dead rock. Looks crappy for at least several months, so hard to tolerate.
This tank ... is already ... the best ... Seriously Rich, it was a pleasure to finally meet you and see this tank in person.
Any one who doesn't take his advice on SPS can expect faded or brown corals.
How's that for a$$-kissing?
Thanks Awilida I didn't think things would progress so fast. When I broke down the tank after the storm, the rock stunk horribly. I though it would take a couple of months just to remove the organics. Dosing Vodka into my rock tub cleaned it up very fast!
