I put out a few WTB threads and in 3 days someone messaged me. Good price so I have to try it. I know its better suited for a larger cube but I have to try it :).
David this might be your future light?! :)

Yes thank you LED's :)

As promised here are some pics of the cyano that I'm dealing with. It's starting to cover the entire sandbed in the frag tank. I only have 2 small patches in the display but that was enough to get me to dose the special blend. Week one dose for 100gal system is 75ml. It was dumped in last night. No noticeable changes in corals or cyano today. I've used this in the past so I feel safe putting it in my system.

Jackson is that just a frag tank? If it is why do you have sand in it? I would get rid of the sand in your frag tank there is no need for it. That should solve your cyano in the frag tank and it wont carry over to the main

It's more than just a frag tank ;) I grow macros in there as well but that's not the reason for the sand. The sand is there for more surface area for bacteria to grow on........ and boy did it work this time :) CyanoBACTERIA loves it

You have plenty of surface in the main for your bacteria population to grow. When you feed your tank you have fish to eat the food and a healthy clean up crew. When the excess food and deitrus goes from your main into the frag tank you dont have the same kind of scavengers to clean up the mess which settles in the sand and the cyano has a feeding place. I would honestly think of removing the sand or at least get a great clean up crew in there and put a little bowl with sand for your wrasse to sleep in if you want to keep him in there. And your macro doesnt need a sand bed to do well unless its a rooted macro

Duke I am extremely thick headed. I won't listen lol. I actually have a theory based on experience that larger tanks tend to grow and color SPS faster due to bacterial populations. Naturally a larger tank, with more rock/sand, and fish will have more bacteria than a smaller tank setup the same way.
IMO this is why you see larger tanks grow large corals faster. I experienced this in my 120 gallon. What took me 2 years of growth in SPS nanos I would have had in 6 months in my 120.
With that said, I basically wanted the second tank to make my 60 cube larger:)

Jackson I truly enjoy your threads. Always informative and interesting. When I grow up I hope to have a tank that looks as good as yours. :)

LOL thanks! :D

I have recently begun feeding like crazy. Feeding oyster feast, roe, nutamar, rods, mysis, flake, and pellet. Colors on SPS are really starting to pop but I guess the extra nutrient caused the bacteria explosion.

So make your 60 into a 4in sandbed and you will add extra surface area for your bacteria to grow. I can honestly say i think your cyano is because of the sand collecting to much and no enough critters to eat the access in there. Add 1 hermit and 1 snail per gallon of your frag tank along with some snails that sift through your sand if you want to keep sand in the frag tank and maybe some mini brittle stars.Maybe a sand sifting star. Sand sifting star is a good idea. Any particular species? I have 25 hermits in there, 2 nassarus snails, and a handful of turbos. This is a bacterial explosion. No way they could keep up right now.

Pecan are you saying dont follow the directions on the bottle? Maybe that why it didnt work for me LOL I think i used 30ml for my 100gallons and waited to the 8th day to dose again.

You under dosed. You would need 100ml for a 100 gallon for initial dosage if you follow the directions on bottle.

Here video of the system to document it :) I have to get back to work. I have too much freakin time on my hands ;)
