This information was given in another thread the other day.

Sounds like the results will be in the March AAOLM, if everything comes together.

2 years more than enough time, and i read in an earlier post how matt turned the project over to someone else becsause he was worried about some legal BS with a particular salt company. If YOU read thru this post you will clearly see LOT of "delays" and a LOT of "results on the way" but very little results TIME to Get offt the POT and give these people what they paid for. I Wonder would YOU tolerate this level of service from a company you were buying live rock or corals from?? excuse after excuse and no service AFTER you have paid. I seriously doubt it, WHAT is the hold up this time!???

Alright jack go read this post

We’ve all been screwed over a few times in this world and know what it feels like, at least the study is crawling forward. Len has said before that Reefs.org has invested more then all individual contributions put together and has also stated that he fully intends to see this forward. You're not screwed over yet, so don't start screaming at another member who is only trying to state the obvious, that more patience in needed. The results are estimated for March, and if that's coming out of Len's and Liquid's mouths then it should count for something. These people have jobs and families too. It’s not uncommon for studies to take years when full-time staff is working eight hours a day. So, don’t start stoning people to death yet, and please try to refrain from using crud hostility. It makes things miserable for everyone.

I don't know what more to say except we're trying. It's squarely in Matt's hands right now. I fully sympathize with your frustrations; as mentioned, Reefs.org has put in more effort and money then all peoples or organizations combined. We are as interested as anyone to see the published data. Once we get the finished submission, it should take no more then two months to have it published.

In the meanwhile, Advanced Aquarist has paid a significant sum of money for Timothy A. Hovanec and Jennifer L. Coshland's detailed and current analysis of synthetic salts. published in our Sept 2004 issue.

I appreciate the frustration, but it's not for lack of effort on Reefs.org's part. We did our share in a professional, timely manner. It shouldn't be too long now and I will continue to keep open dialogue with Matt.

Sooo in TWO months you are telling me that we will get results??? i recall Matt claiming three quaters of the testing was done back in 2000. How bout a demonstration of good fatih and let us see the results of ONE of the salts tested?? Since all i have been hearing is "almost done" and "soon" You should have at least ONE brand completed> Or will i get a line of we want to publish all the results at once so we can compare them, i think we all know how to cut and paste and save information long enough to compare the results to the rest of the test when/if they are released. This whole deal has been conducted so poorly and with such incompetence i seriously question how accurate or valid the test results will be.

Part one of a three-part series was published in the September 2004 issue of Advanced Aquarist. Whatever happened to parts two and three of this study?

Thanks.

Not only that, his company's being bought out again. This time it's Rayovac. That will be their third owner in less than eight months.

P.S. -- Maybe Instant Ocean will put free batteries in their salt mix buckets instead of plastic plants.

Well that would explain things. I've been bugging Terry about that article since October.

The acquisition by Rayovac was just announced a couple of weeks ago and is scheduled to close next month: http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zht ... highlight=

Their previous owner, United Pet, was acquired by United Industries back in July or August 2004. Looks like United Industries is now being bought by Rayovac.

I can not give any concrete timelines because as I have already mentioned, it is beyond Reefs.org's control; We are making our sincerest efforts with Matt to get it submitted for publication. All the results will be published at the same time in a presentable, readable format. I have no question about his competance, having read and learned from all his past testings (that he voluntarily did for the benefit of our hobby). But I personally can appreciate the frustration with the scheduling.

Thanks a million Louey. It's important that someone keeps us up to date.

....I was beginning to think that my posts were invisible.

I didn't unsticky it, but I think the purpose of the annoucement was served a long time ago. A new sticky will go up annoucing the publication of the results, hopefully by the end of this quarter.
