Delbeek and Sprung actually talk about some natural well water is very good to use even to get some calcium needs if the water is pretty hardness (calcium carbonate).
Most cameras will hold up fine within the 50-400 range. Some of the highend cameras can shoot 1600 without most people noticing anything. The set ISO is actually the least grainy shot. 50 and 200 are actually about the same grain believe it or not
The same goes for anyone consuming NY tapwater. That, and anyone drinking the tapwater is also getting plenty of other crap (including toilet paper).
You have RO units for your fish, why are you not taking that same philosophy of purifying your fish water and purify your drinking water...
I think you guys are taking the criticism too personal. Constructive criticism is a good thing and can only help future events. Regardless if someone who gives input on what went wrong was saying it in a snide way or not shouldn't detract from the value of what was said.
Not everyone has the...
Or maybe not allow sales and before 10:10 if that is what was happening but then again, agreements would be made between people. I guess you make a good point about the reality of the situation.
Don't fish have a protective slime on them to protect them from bacterias, fungus, some parasites and contaminates? I know you might think it is harmless to be petting a fish like a cat or dog but I would strongly advise against it. Your hands have oil and could possibly have other toxins that...
The best solution is to reduce the cost of admission and make pizza and food something people need to buy for a reasonable rate. That way you dont have to have a set time for the food and there will not be a mad rush. People can tend to get a little greedy when something is free.

Ya thank you reefers. This was my first and surely not my last frag swap. I had fun meeting some of you and hope to meet more and develop good friendships. Do not hesitate to chat me up
Thank you Manhattan Reef helpers and organizers

When i was living in Massachusetts, the well water was fairly low and the water was very drinkable. Besides there are good high level TDS readings and there are bad high level readings
There must be a more efficient solution than just throwing it all away. I am going to look into this. I know at some point any system I set up in the city, I will have to eventually tear it down when i move.
I would do some tests on the well water. Personally, if the water has a low TDS count, I might even consider using without the R/O...maybe just through some carbon.
So, on the same topic, what is the best way to make a move to a new apartment with a fully established tank? Place corals in a holding bucket for a few days while the sand and tank are setup and are giving time to settle down? Would even a few days be enough time for the sand to cycle through...
lol, I just want to get the ball rolling and I wasn't aware of the spring swap. My goal is to do a ton of research for the next 2 months to make sure I know exactly what it is I am buying to do this right. Then I plan on introducing cultured live rock and sand. I think if i wait a month, the...
I do not have an aquarium but I plan on having one in 2-4 months. This frag swap thing seems like a good chance to find some really great frags/corals that I will not find most other times.
If someone has the room for a few corals and has a very well established aquarium, I would be willing to...
